Barely

A LITTLE LESS CHAOS. COMING SOON.

Less school admin.
More breathing room.

The notices. The homework. The “is it PE today?”
Meet the family chat that helps you keep up.

Barely brings your school information together, so you have a little less to keep in your head.

Get a little breathing room

TOMORROW, SORTED.
Barely Your family chat
AN ORDINARY DAYWEDNESDAY

Holding it together. Mostly.

  1. Alex

What do we need for tomorrow?

  2. Barely

Sam has PE, so kit and trainers. Maths homework is due too.

Maya has netball at home, 2:15 pm.

  3. Jo ≋

Anything we need to sign this week?

  4. Barely

One thing: the trip form, due Friday. I can’t sign it for you, sadly.

An example conversation.
Made-up family, made-up school day.
For parents with seventeen tabs open. In their heads.

THE BARELY ESSENTIALS

Fewer things to juggle.
Still your circus.

Barely reads the school information you connect.
You ask a question. It brings the relevant bits together.

01

ONE FAMILY CHAT

Everyone in the same conversation.

Parents share one chat with Barely. Ask once, and the answer is there for whoever needs it.

No more “did you see
the email?”

02

SCHOOL NOTICES

Notices and newsletters, already read.

Ask what matters in the messages school sends through its own systems, instead of scrolling for it.

Including the ones
that arrive at bedtime.

03

HOMEWORK & TIMETABLES

What’s due, and what’s on.

Find out what has been set, when it is due and what tomorrow looks like, child by child.

Due tomorrow.
Naturally.

04

FIXTURES & TEAMS

Less hunting. More cheering.

Your children’s sports fixtures and team information, in the same chat as everything else.

Home or away.
It matters.

05

DAILY ROUND-UPS

A little heads-up, morning and evening.

Optional round-ups of what’s coming up, so the day starts and ends with fewer surprises.

Optional.
Like ironing.

06

VOICE, TOO

Or just ask out loud.

Tap the voice button and talk. A transcript stays in the family chat, so nobody misses it.

For hands already
full of PE kit.

WHEN YOU GET YOUR HANDS ON IT

Three steps.
Then ask away.

  1. 1

    Add your little crew

A first name, their school and school year. Siblings at different schools are fine.

  2. 2

    Connect school

Sign in on the school’s own pages inside Barely. You choose which services to connect.

  3. 3

    Make it yours

Choose notifications and invite another parent if you like. Both are optional.

We’re starting with Bishop’s Stortford College and adding more schools in early access. Check the school list below.

NO SMALL PRINT ENERGY

The honest bit.

Your inbox stays yours.

Barely doesn’t connect to or read your personal email.

You choose what connects.

Connect the school services you need. Barely keeps those connections separate from your personal inbox.

Helpful, not infallible.

It’s AI. Check anything important with the school. The big decisions stay with you.

YOUR SCHOOL. ON THE LIST.

A little closer
to your school.

19 schools on the list, including 18 in early access.
Bishop’s Stortford College is our first school. The additions are early access: we’re checking coverage with parents, and available school services vary.

Barely isn’t publicly available yet. Early access schools need the updated app; join the waitlist for launch news. We don’t promise every notice, timetable or fixture is covered.

FAIR QUESTIONS

Questions, answered.

Which schools does Barely work with?

We’re starting with Bishop’s Stortford College and adding more schools in early access. See the current list. Coverage depends on the school services you connect, and we’re still checking the additions with parents. The app isn’t publicly available yet; join the waitlist for launch updates.

My child is at another school. Should I join?

Yes, please. Choose your school from the list, or pick “Other school” and tell us which one if you’d like. It helps us decide where to go next. Joining doesn’t guarantee we’ll support a particular school, but we’ll let you know if there’s news for yours.

Does Barely read my email?

No. Barely doesn’t connect to or read your personal inbox. It reads messages from the school’s own services, even if you also receive them by email. Your Barely email address is for signing in.

Do you store my school password?

For SchoolPost and MySchoolPortal, you sign in on the school’s own pages inside Barely. We keep a secure session, not those login passwords. School Sport has separate setup: if your school requires a team-sheet password and you choose to provide it, it is stored encrypted so Barely can read the relevant team sheets.

How does the AI use our information?

In the app, your messages, your children’s details and relevant information from connected school services are sent to AI providers to generate answers. Voice audio is also processed by an AI provider, with a transcript saved in your family chat. The waitlist on this page doesn’t collect that family information or send your signup details to AI.

Who can see our family chat?

Parents who join your family with access to its children can see the shared chat, including earlier messages, and those children’s school information. Only invite someone you’re happy to share this with.

Can Barely get things wrong?

Yes. AI makes mistakes. Barely helps you find and understand school information, but check important details with the school.

Will it reply to school or sign forms for me?

No. Barely doesn’t send school replies, give consent, make bookings or pay on your behalf. Those decisions stay with you.

What are the morning and evening round-ups?

Optional summaries of what’s coming up for your children, to help you prepare for the day and the next one. You choose whether to have them.

When can I get it, and what will it cost?

We’re not announcing a launch date or pricing just yet. Join the waitlist and we’ll tell you when there’s something real to say. Signing up here is free and doesn’t commit you to anything.

Still here? You’re clearly our kind of parent.
